My mobile phone plan has almost reached the end of it’s term, so it is time for a (potential) change. Today i got a call from my old provider (Orange). Orange has gone together with T-mobile and so they are switching everybody over.
This lady was definitely doing an awfull job.
First: she lied… that is something i cannot and will not approve of as a sales tactic. She told me that only if i switched to T-mobile would i be able to keep my own number. However, in Holland it is always easy to switch to another company while keeping your number. She finally had to agree that you could take the number, but then had to wait three months….
Second: not once did she bring a nice offer to keep me.
the problem is that mobile phone providers seem to be stuck more on getting new users with nice deals, than keeping their own users.. I cannot imagine why. You would imagine that the cost for a new user is much higher (new phone etc etc) than keeping an old one.. Someone you know pays their bills on time, and so forth..
But heck.. i’m probably compelety wrong.
