Wikipedia has a list of places blurred out on Google Maps. Interesting to see and wonder why.
If you open the site one of the first countries is The Netherlands, blurred out locations are:
- 52°14’55.40″N 4°26’22.74″E, Noordwijk aan Zee.
- 52°08’16.98″N 4°30’46.29″E, “apparently” just two buildings in The Hague. The Royal Stables
- [1], near Zeist.
- [2], a Navy Base just north of the Nederlands Scheepvaartmuseum Amsterdam, Kattenburgerplein 1, 1018 KK Amsterdam
- Gilze-Rijen Airbase, Netherlands (Dutch) in Google Maps
- Nato C3 Agency
- Den Helder, Naval installations
- Vlissingen, Naval installations
- ‘t Harde (1), Army exercise area
- ‘t Harde (2), Army exercise area
- Leeuwarden Air Force Base
- Kamp Zeist (Lockerbie Trials) + Soesterberg Air Force Base
Based on this it seems mostly military.
In the us they have also blurred out: 39° 2’35.84″N 77°35’35.39″W Loudoun County Landfill
Why would one wnat to blur out a Landfill? what’s there to hide there???
Back to the Netherlands: i found another site listing blurred out locations, but also some locations that you would have expected to be blurred out, for example Europol. Strange
