As you can see i have removed the blogrush widget from my website. I have found that it doesn’t work for me. If i look at the stats i see the following:

This means that Blogrush is definitely coming through on the bonus credits. Including bonus credits I have earned over 20.000 clicks / or presentations on other widgets.
Now the big question is off course how much traffic does this generate?
The Blogrush dashboard gives the information on the last 12 posts.
I got 18.289 impressions on other widgets for these last 12 posts. This has resulted in a whopping 4 click troughs. This means that about 0,02% of the times my headings were shown on other blog’s, someone clicked that heading.
Well.. that is not a lot, i get more traffic from Google by people searching for keywords which come up to my site.
This means that for me Blogrush is not really working. Well, what are the problems as far as i can think of:
My blog cannot be fitted in one category which Blogrush uses. Therefore i had to chose one category. I chose photography, but that means that my stories come up on other photography sites. If the heading is not related to photography, the readers out there will probably never click.
The headings i use for my postings may not have that appeal that they need to get the photography-savy crowd away from the blogs they are viewing.
And the last part: a small calculation what i would need to double my current traffic of about 100 visits per day:
As i noted above the click ratio is 0,02%. That means that if i want 100 traffic from Blogrush i’ll need 450.000 credits per day. At this time i get about 13,78 bonus credits per credit received from a real click on the widget.
That means that 1 click will lead to approximately 15 credits. I need 450.000 credits, so i would need about 30.500 real clicks a day. That means 305 clicks per person who visits me now, and that will get me another 100 visitors through Blogrush. You can imagine that this is something that will never happen.
So, based on all this where i can see that Blogrush is not bringing me much traffic, i have decided to remove the widget. It will look nicer in my blog design, and I’m not missing out anything.
Let me know if and how Blogrush is working for you.
