After 30 years, Taco Bell didn’t even offer her any hot sauce

The US is often praised for the American Dream and all it represents. We here in Holland have a different view. When i read the story about Winnie Shilson and her 30 year excellent employment at Taco Bell coming to an and in such an abrupt manner, i realised something must be incredibly wrong. 30 years is an amazing long time to work for one company. It means that this is someone who knows the company, knows how to do things and does it well (the pins, the appraisals etc). And then it ends.

No benefits, no medical insurance, and that at 64…. The only thing i can say to Taco Bell, is that if that is way they treat people, there is no way in hell i’ll ever eat another Taco Bell again. Where is the land of the free and the brave, where is the solidarity for someone who has worked 30 years at your company? No… that is something we must forget very quickly.

It seems lately that the only way you get anything is not for loyalty and working hard but is if you fail miserably at the top, jeopardize lots of incomes and jobs, and still walk away smiling with a lot of cool millions….

This world sometimes makes me sick..
